Experience Southern Oregon’s classic half-day rafting trip on the beautiful Rogue River. This tour is close to Ashland and makes for a perfect half-day adventure. Suitable for beginners or groups of mixed rafting experience. The Chanticleer Inn staff loved this trip! The trip features a steady progression from the easiest and most mellow rapids to the largest rapids, which gives everyone a chance to slowly become more comfortable with whitewater and rafting. The family-friendly guides are great with kids, and with those who are kids at heart, and will make your time on the river a happy and memorable experience. Ashland, Oregon is home to Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Oregon Cabaret Theater and gateway to Rogue Wine Country, Crater Lake National Park and Wild & Scenic Wilderness.
Highly recommended!!! We visit Ashland usually twice yearly to attend the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, to enjoy hiking and birding in the beautiful wild places nearby, and to renew our acquaintance with this fabulous Inn. The Inn, located in the downtown area and within short walking distance of the theaters, business district, and numerous restaurants, is a gem. The rooms are well-appointed, cozy and clean, the breakfasts are healthy and delicious, and the hospitality is first-rate, attentive, and genuine.
Late Arrival & No Reservation The Chanticleer is one of those serendipitous discoveries that happen in the magical kingdom of Ashland. We arrived tired & grumpy having driven a long distance. We departed rested, extremely well fed & determined to return for a longer stay thanks largely to Ellen, l'aubergiste formidable.
Wonderful weekend again We've stayed here many times over the years. Just back from our latest play-going visit. The rooms are comfortable, large, and well-appointed. The house is on a quiet street. Breakfast is the best there is, with Ellen accommodating a range of dietary needs. This is our 'home away from home' when we're in Ashland.
Lovely Inn in Ashland
Chanticleer Inn is charming, comfortable and very convenient to downtown Ashland, including the Shakespeare theaters. We spent a delightful two days and enjoyed Ellen's welcoming hospitality. Breakfast is a delicious homemade mix of sweet and savory. The best part, however, were the people with whom we had fascinating discussions at the breakfast table. Many of them a repeat visitors to Chanticleer!
I love the warmth of this B&B.Breakfast is to die for! Ellen (owner) and staff make the best breakfasts anywhere. They are authentic French country. Zero added sugar, fat, or salt. The ingredients all blend together to create a wonderful sensation. Rooms are warm and well coordinated. Zero scents or folding cards. Walking distance to theaters and main street. I highly recommend this B&B.
Best experience I've had staying at someone else's house. Ellen makes you feel great being away from home, and she is dog friendly. She takes great care in the breakfast she prepares for her guests. You could not find better treatment anywhere in Ashland. Chanticleer Inn is only a short walk to the Shakespeare festival, and Crater lake is a few hours drive. It's a pity there can only be Chanticleer Inn. I highly recommend a stay here.
Lovely, quiet and friendly spot to stay. A quick 5 minute walk (with a hill) to theaters, town, restaurants....but a quiet and peaceful garden setting that makes for a wonderful respite. Ellen is a warm and welcoming host. She even let us bring our dog, which is unusual in Asland. Awesome, creative breakfasts too! We'll be back!
Chanticleer is a great place to stay in Ashland. Their location is also convenient to the center of down. We've also appreciated the wonderful breakfasts with our fellow guests and our hosts Ellen and Howie. It's like home, only in Ashland! We're looking forward to coming back next year.
Have stayed here many times over the past couple decades. Charming historic home. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well-appointed. Staff is charming and efficient. Breakfast can't be beat, and Ellen easily caters to diverse dietary needs.
A beautiful inn. Had a nice room with comfortable bed. Grand breakfast next morning with the other guests. Ellen is a wonderful hostess.
Exceptional! Ellen goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and fun. Her Inn is very clean and beautifully decorated with rooms to meet everyone's needs. Ellen and her friendly staff hand make elaborate breakfasts every morning that are sure amaze the palate. Her gorgeous, varied, well manicured private garden complete with a hammock (to soak up the Southern Oregon sunshine) is sure to please. I'll certainly return for any long or short stay in the Ashland area.
The Chanticleer is my home away from home and has been for over 11 years now. The Chanticleer Inn is only a short stroll to OSF and an amazing array of shops and restaurants. And, what can I say about breakfast but yum! Each morning comes with a wonderful breakfast, served at a communal table where I had the pleasure of some great conversations. If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Ashland, I highly recommend The Chanticleer Bed and Breakfast Inn.
